Changed for Jobber

Change orders for Jobber

Changed gives Jobber the change order it doesn't have: your tech writes up the extra work on a phone, the customer signs off from a link before the work, and the signed change is written back to the same Jobber job. The original quote is never touched.

Updated

What Jobber does today

Jobber runs the quote, the job, the visits and the invoice. When the customer asks for more on site, Jobber gives you two ways to record it: edit the job's line items, or make a new quote for the extra work and have the customer approve it in client hub. On its Connect and Grow plans, Jobber's DocuSign integration can also send a document for signature. Our guide How to do a change order in Jobber walks through each.

What's missing

  • A signature on the change itself. Editing the job changes the price without asking the customer. A new quote asks, but it is a separate quote.
  • The same job. An approved quote becomes a new job, or lines copied across by hand. A DocuSign envelope's signed copy stays in DocuSign, and its lines don't come back to the job.
  • Proof from the site. What the tech saw, in photos or a short video, in front of the customer when they say yes.

How it works

  1. Start from Jobber. Tap Start free with Jobber, sign in to Jobber and tap Allow. Your jobs, customers, and products and services come across. Only a Jobber admin or the account owner can connect. See Start with Jobber.
  2. Write it up on site. Open the job, tap New change order, film a short video or take photos and say what changed. Autofill writes the reason and picks lines from your own products and services. See Make a change order.
  3. Send for sign-off. By text or email. The customer needs no account and no app. See Send for sign-off.
  4. The customer signs off. On their phone they see the change, the photos and video, the total before, the change and the new job total, and sign with a finger or by typing their name. See What the customer sees.
  5. It lands on the job. Changed writes the signed change back to the Jobber job, and the customer gets the signed PDF by email.

What lands on the Jobber job

When the customer signs off, Changed writes to that job, in this order:

  • The added lines, each marked with the change order's number and reason.
  • Lines taken out, as credit lines.
  • A pinned note: who signed off and when, the lines, the totals, and links to the signed PDF, the video and the customer's page, with the photos attached.
  • The Change orders field on the job, for example "2 signed off · +$1,240.00".
  • A deposit invoice, when the change order asks for a deposit, so it shows in client hub.

The original quote is never touched, and Changed never deletes anything in Jobber. Each step shows ok or failed on the change order, with Retry. See What goes back to Jobber.

Techs without a Jobber seat

A tech doesn't need a Jobber seat to use Changed. The owner or the office invites them by email, or picks people from the Jobber account in one list, and they sign in with Google or an emailed code. Techs work on jobs and change orders; they can't change the company's settings. See Invite your team.

Pricing

Free for your first 10 change orders. Pro is $29 a month for 20 change orders. Crew is $99 a month for 100 change orders. Every plan includes Jobber sync, Autofill, signed PDFs and AI assistants. The price is for the company, not for each person. See Plans and pricing.

Questions

Is Changed made by Jobber?

No. Changed is made by Crew Cab Studios and connects to your Jobber account.

Does it change my Jobber quote?

No. Changed adds lines, a note, the Change orders field and any deposit invoice to the job. The original quote is never touched.

Does my customer need Jobber or an app?

No. They get a link by text or email and sign off on their phone, with no account, app or password.

Who can connect Jobber?

A Jobber admin or the account owner, which is Jobber's own rule. After that, anyone the owner or office invites can make change orders.

What does it cost?

Free for your first 10 change orders. Pro is $29 a month for 20 change orders. Crew is $99 a month for 100 change orders. The price is for the company, not for each person.
