Comparison
Changed vs DocuSign for change orders
DocuSign is general e-signature software: it gets any document signed, and Jobber's DocuSign integration can fill in the client and job details, but the signed document stays in DocuSign and no line items come back to the Jobber job. Changed does one thing: a change order built from the Jobber job, signed off by the customer on their phone, then written back to the same job.

What DocuSign is good at
DocuSign is the best-known name in electronic signatures. It signs any PDF or Word file, with templates, many signers in an order, reminders, a certificate of completion, identity checks as an add-on, and over a thousand integrations. If you sign many kinds of documents, or need a signer's ID checked, it is a strong choice.
DocuSign with Jobber
Jobber has a DocuSign integration, on Jobber's Connect and Grow plans, with a DocuSign account of your own. Jobber's help suggests it for having a client sign off on changes to the work. It can draft an envelope when a quote is sent or approved or a job is created, fill in the client's name, email and phone, the address and the quote or job number, title and total (the address and job details need DocuSign Business Pro or above), and show the envelope's status on the quote or job.
What it leaves to you, for a change order:
- A change on a job already underway isn't one of the automatic triggers, so you send that envelope from DocuSign yourself.
- The lines and prices of the change are what you write in the DocuSign document. Nothing comes back to the Jobber job's line items; only the envelope's status does.
- The signed document stays in DocuSign. To have it on the job, you save it there by hand.
What Changed does instead
- The change order starts from the Jobber job: the customer, the address and the total so far are already there.
- The tech films the extra work or takes photos on site, and the lines come from your Jobber products and services.
- The customer signs off from a link by text or email, with a consent box, a signature and a sign-off certificate, much like DocuSign's own.
- After sign-off Changed writes the lines, a pinned note with the signed PDF and photos, the Change orders field and any deposit invoice to the Jobber job. See What goes back to Jobber.

Which to choose
- Choose DocuSign if you sign many kinds of documents, need several signers in order, or need the signer's ID checked.
- Choose Changed if your change orders are on Jobber jobs and you want them signed off on site and on the job without retyping.
Plenty of contractors use both: DocuSign for the main contract, Changed for the changes after it. For the law behind both, see Are e-signed change orders legal?
Questions
Is a Changed sign-off as valid as a DocuSign signature?
Both rest on the same laws (ESIGN and UETA in the US, the provincial acts in Canada) and keep the same kinds of evidence: consent, intent, time, internet address and a certificate. Changed doesn't offer an ID check. This is general information, not legal advice; see Are e-signed change orders legal?
Can I use DocuSign and Changed together?
Yes. Many contractors sign the main contract one way and use Changed for the change orders on the job.
Does Changed charge per user?
No. A plan covers the company, by change orders a month. Invite as many people as you need.
