What Changed does

Changed turns the extra work on a job into a change order the customer signs off on from their phone, then puts it back on the job.

Changed is for the extra work that turns up once a job has started: the soft drywall behind the tile, the second outlet the customer asked for, the vendor who says a part costs more. It gets that work written up, signed off by the customer and back on the job before the work happens.

How it goes

  1. A tech opens the job on their phone and taps New change order. They film the extra work and talk, or add photos and tap Autofill, and Changed writes it up and fills in the lines. See Make a change order.
  2. The office or the tech taps Send for sign-off. The customer gets a link by text or email. See Send a change order for sign-off.
  3. The customer opens the link, sees the change and the new job total, signs with a finger and taps Sign off on this change. See What the customer sees.
  4. The customer who signed off gets the signed PDF by email, and you have it on the change order. On a Jobber job, the new lines and a pinned note go onto the job in Jobber. See What goes back to Jobber.

What Changed never does

  • It never signs off for the customer. Only the customer can sign off or ask for changes on a change order, from their own link.
  • It never handles money. A deposit button only links to where you already take payments. See Deposits and the Pay button.
  • It never deletes anything in Jobber, and it never changes the original quote.

Jobber is the first connection. You can also use Changed without Jobber by adding jobs by hand.
