Save photos and videos to your device
Turn on Also save photos and videos to this device in Settings, and this phone or computer keeps its own copies as well as Changed.
Off to start with
Photos and videos you take in a change order stay in Changed, on the change order. Nothing goes into your camera roll or onto your computer unless you turn this on.
Turn it on
Go to Settings and tap This device to open it. Check Also save photos and videos to this device.
The setting is yours, on this phone or computer only. Your other devices, and other people on the same computer, keep their own. A tech can keep copies on their phone while the office computer does not.
On an iPhone or iPad
Each save is one tap. After you take a photo or a video in a change order, and on each change order you open, tap Save to my phone, then Save Image or Save Video. Websites can't save to Photos by themselves, so the tap is needed each time.
On an Android phone
Tap Save to my phone, then pick where to keep it. If your phone can't share files from the browser, you get a Download button for each photo and video instead.
On a computer in Chrome or Edge
When you check the box, Changed asks you to pick a folder. Make a new one called Changed photos, or pick any folder, and allow Changed to save there.
After that it works by itself. Photos and videos you take in a change order, and the ones on each change order you open, are copied into the folder, named after the job and the change order, like "Hallway ceiling CO-03 photo 1.jpg" or "Hallway ceiling CO-03 video.mp4". Files already in the folder are skipped, so opening a change order again never makes a second copy.
Browsers ask again from time to time. When a change order shows Allow saving to Changed photos again, tap it. To use a different folder, tap Change folder in Settings.
On a computer in Safari or Firefox
These browsers can't save to a folder by themselves. Each photo and video gets a Download button, and the file goes to your Downloads folder.
If a save does not work
A save that does not work never stops the change order. You see a short line under the photos, and a Download button for anything that could not be saved. To stop keeping copies, uncheck the box in Settings. What you already saved stays where it is. See Make a change order for taking photos and videos.
